1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CRDscout website and mobile application (the "Service"), operated by CRDscout ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CRDscout is a search and comparison platform for trading card products. The Service aggregates stock and pricing information from third-party retailers, provides alerts and reminders, and offers collection management tools. Search results are generated using artificial intelligence and automated data collection; whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, this cannot always be guaranteed.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

4. Your Account

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
  • You must not share your account credentials or use another person's account without permission.
  • You must not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or paywalls.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, national, or international law.
  • Attempt to access, probe, or scan the Service's infrastructure, backend systems, or data sources.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute search results, pricing data, or retailer listings without our written permission.
  • Submit false or misleading reports (e.g. false sale reports, incorrect match reports) with intent to manipulate data.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service, except through officially provided APIs where available.
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service, including placing ads or injecting code.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription (Scout, Pathfinder, Pro, Elite, Partner). Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment provider (Base44 Payments / Stripe). By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees until you cancel.

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are issued at our discretion in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.
  • We may change subscription fees with at least 30 days' notice.

7. Promotional Codes

Promotional or discount codes grant time-limited access to paid features. Codes are non-transferable, may have usage limits, and expire as stated at the time of issue. We reserve the right to revoke codes that are used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and curated product data, is owned by CRDscout and protected by intellectual property laws. Retailer names, logos, and product images belong to their respective owners and are displayed for informational and comparison purposes only.

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g. collection entries, notes, reports). By submitting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that content to provide and improve the Service.

9. User-Reported Content

Users may report suspected false listings, incorrect matches, or other issues. We review reports in good faith but are not liable for the accuracy or outcome of any report. Submitting a report does not guarantee any action will be taken.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Search results, pricing, and stock information are generated using AI and automated methods and may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or reliability of any retailer data. You should always verify pricing and stock directly with the retailer before purchasing.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CRDscout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CRDscout from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

13. Third-Party Links

The Service links to third-party retailer websites and external marketplaces (e.g. eBay, Amazon). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third-party sites. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and that party.

14. Advertising

The Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising partners. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their ads. We are not liable for any products or services advertised. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

15. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and without notice. Upon termination, all licences granted to you under these Terms cease immediately.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights.
